AESTHETIC DENTAL MEDICINE
AESTHETIC DENTAL MEDICINE
By harmonizing your smile, aesthetic dentistry enhances your confidence. At Nordenta Dental Practice, we strive to improve your appearance in a minimally invasive manner. Teeth whitening is a procedure that does not alter the qualities of your enamel and does not harm your teeth when performed under the supervision of a dentist.
Teeth whitening is a modern and established cosmetic method for enhancing aesthetics. The dentist’s assessment of the condition of your teeth is crucial for its proper application.
We work with the well-established American whitening system, Opalescence.
In-office teeth whitening:
This whitening procedure is conducted in the dental office. The teeth are isolated, and a whitening gel is applied to their surface. The procedure is completely painless and takes about an hour. It can be repeated if necessary.
At-home teeth whitening:
The procedure is performed at home using pre-made silicone trays designed for the patient’s teeth. At a convenient time, the patient applies a whitening gel to the trays and places them on the teeth for several hours. The result is gradual and long-lasting, and the trays can be reused later to refresh the color.
Veneers
Veneers are a cosmetic dental treatment that involves placing thin, custom-made shells made of porcelain or composite resin on the front surface of the teeth. Veneers can be used to improve the appearance of teeth that are discolored, chipped, misaligned, or unevenly spaced.
Veneers are often recommended for patients who have significant cosmetic issues with their teeth or who want to achieve a dramatic transformation of their smile.
The procedure usually involves two to three visits to the dental office, with the first visit including consultation, photographic documentation, and digital scanning of the teeth to create an individual smile design. This way, the patient can visualize the changes and necessary adjustments can be made before the final placement of the veneers. Subsequent visits involve tooth preparation and the bonding of the veneers.
One of the main advantages of veneers is their durability when proper care is taken, and the result is resistant to staining. Veneers are often used to achieve multiple cosmetic improvements at once, such as enhancing the color, shape, and alignment of the teeth.
If you are considering veneers as a treatment option, it is important to consult with a qualified dental specialist who can assess your individual needs and recommend the best course of treatment.
Bonding
Bonding is an aesthetic procedure that involves artistic restoration, primarily of teeth in the esthetic zone. Bonding is performed by pre-planning the smile design according to the individual requirements of the patient and the characteristics of their face and smile. This way, the patient can get an idea of the planned enhancements and make changes before the final procedure. Photopolymer composite is used, and there is no need for prior tooth preparation. The goal is to achieve a natural and beautiful smile.
Bonding can be used for various purposes, including:
- Correcting chipped or broken teeth
- Closing gaps between teeth
- Correcting stains or discoloration on teeth
- Changing the shape or size of teeth
- Protecting exposed tooth roots due to gum recession
Bonding is often recommended for patients who have minor cosmetic issues with their teeth, as it is a minimally invasive and cost-effective treatment option. It can also be a good choice for patients who want to improve the appearance of their teeth but are not ready to commit to more extensive cosmetic procedures such as veneers or crowns.
One of the main advantages of bonding is that it can be performed in a single dental visit, typically taking about 30-60 minutes per tooth. The procedure is relatively painless and requires minimal to no anesthesia. Another advantage is that the composite material used can be color-matched to the surrounding teeth, making it look very natural.
However, it is important to note that bonding is not as durable as other cosmetic dental procedures such as veneers or crowns. The composite material used in bonding can chip or wear over time, and it may need to be replaced every 5-10 years. Additionally, bonding may not be suitable for more severe cosmetic issues or for patients with certain dental conditions.
If you are considering bonding as a treatment option, it is important to consult with a qualified dental specialist who can assess your individual needs and recommend the best course of treatment.
